About place4pals
place4pals is non-profit social media. There are no ads, no algorithmic feed, no engagement targets and no investors to answer to. Posts appear in the order they were written, and that is the whole of it.
Most social platforms are free because your attention is the product being sold. Nothing here is for sale, so there is nothing pulling the feed away from what you actually asked to see.
Lo-fi on purpose
The plain text, the square corners and the bracketed links are deliberate. Pages are small, load in one round trip, and work on an old phone or a bad connection. Reading needs no JavaScript at all.
Public by default
Every post and profile is readable without an account, so anything you write can be linked to and read by anyone you send it to. You only need an account to post, reply or follow.
Your words are yours
Nothing you write here is used to train AI models — not by us, and we don't sell or license it to anyone who would. There are no trackers, no analytics scripts from other companies, and no data brokers. What you post is for the people who read it, full stop.
And place4pals is for people. Use whatever tools you like to help you write, but every account here is a person who stands behind what it says — accounts that exist to pump out machine-generated content aren't welcome, and get removed the way any spam does.
